We also haven’t had that much snow or freezing temperatures, so it seems like El Niño has been working to our advantage, even on the East Coast. But swimming three sessions a day in 40-degree water can still get to you—freezing fingers from holding a housing to ice cream headaches from dodging sets. You have to be pretty dedicated.”
